Threading in a correct manner is important when it comes to an uninterrupted sewing experience and quality deliverables, enabling the machine to operate smoothly and the fabric to be pieced well. While the steps may be slightly different among the machine models, it is crucial to know the general steps so that you can work with different machines easily. For specific models, it is recommended that you refer to the manual for details. The following are the general steps:
Threading the machine

1 First, position the needle to the highest level by turning the handwheel towards yourself.

2 Raise the presser foot to let the thread slip into the tension disc easily.

3 The upper thread should past through all the parts of the thread guide and take-up lever (1–5).

4 It should pass through the hook (6), then thread the needle from front to back (7).
Raising the bobbin thread

5 Hold the upper thread gently, then turn the handwheel towards yourself again (8) to bring up the lower thread.

6 Pull the upper and lower thread out (9) as the image shown.
