Have you ever found that tiny holes and damages appear when you are sewing? If yes, this could be the bursting of weave threads, which means the threads of the fabric are damaged when being sewn. Needles and fabric type are the main reasons of the issue. Avoid the following two things if you don’t want to ruin your newly purchased fabric.
The needle is not thin enough
If you sew the fabric with a needle that is too thick, it causes great strain in the fabric, especially in densely woven ones. A thin needle can prevent the weave threads from damage.

Thick needles may make weave threads of densely woven fabric burst more easily.
The fabric is not lubricated
If the sewing material is tough, densely weaved, or elastic, or delicate, bursting of weave threads may occur when the needle passes through it every time with friction building up. You can alleviate the issue by lubricating the fabric or the needle with a silicone-based lubricant.

Silicone-based fabric lubricant can reduce bursting of weave threads.
